The Abenaki Experience
Discover the cultural richness of the Abenaki First Nation with this half-day package.
For groups of 12 to 50 people upon reservation.
The Abenaki experience includes:
- Guided tour of the permanent exhibition Wôbanaki, people of the rising sun and temporary exhibitions;
- Viewing the multimedia projection The creation story, according to the Abenaki legend;
- Traditional meal (sagamité, bannock, smoked fish, salad, dessert, tea/coffee);
- Demonstration of ash basketry by a community elder;
- Guided tour of the community church (May to October only).
Workshops available with supplement:
- Pearled Necklace Workshop ($ 3.50/participant)
- Dreamcatcher Workshop ($ 6/participant)
- Corn doll Workshop ($ 6/participant)

The Nomadic Museum offers you the opportunity to discover some distinctive aspects of the Abenaki way of life and material culture from yesterday to today.
*The Nomadic Museum travels within a radius of 100 km from Odanak.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, discover the different aspects – territories and migrations, traditions and know-how, contemporary perspective – of the material and immaterial culture of the Abenaki, a still little known First Nation.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, objects to manipulate, quizzes and observation games, take a trip to the world of the Abenaki people, from yesterday to today; listen to an Abenaki song, touch clothes from different eras and learn age-old techniques.
