SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
IS IN OUR DNA!

Towards sustainable tourism and beyond!

Accompanied by the Shipeku program of Indigenous Tourism Québec, the Musée des Abénakis adopted a sustainable development policy in 2024 and is committed to taking concrete action to implement environmentally responsible practices in all aspects of its operations. While ensuring the preservation of Abenaki culture, these actions aim to minimize its impact on the environment.

The adopted policy is designed to be evolving. It will be regularly revised to reflect the Museum’s new objectives.

By upholding this policy, the Museum’s employees are determined to play a positive role in preserving Abenaki cultural heritage and the values of Indigenous peoples, as well as to become a model of environmental, social, and economic responsibility among their peers, in order to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

We are a museum engaged in its social environment, in the promotion of Abenaki culture, for the environment, and we are proud of it!
